Raymond Coyle
Chief Executive Officer
Raymond Coyle, founder and owner, is Chief Executive Officer of Largo Foods. Originally from a farming background, Raymond Coyle started growing potatoes in the late ‘70s and felt there was an opening for a small company manufacturing potato chips as Tayto then had an 85% market share. Largo Foods was started in 1984 with 9 people, 6 of which are still with the company today.
The business steadily grew until 16 or 17 years ago when Hunky Dorys potato chips were introduced in 1994. Today, that brand accounts for retail sales of nearly €18 million and is the number one crinkle cut crisp in Ireland. In 2006 after the successful acquisition of the Tayto and King brands from C&C, Largo Foods has grown to be Ireland’s number one snackfoods manufacturer in Ireland.
Maurice Hickey
Managing Director
Maurice Hickey joined Largo Foods as Managing Director in late February 2007 having been a non-executive director of the company since 2005. Prior to joining Largo Foods, Maurice had been Chief Financial Officer of a number of public and private companies namely Trintech Group plc, Bio-Medical Research Limited, Trinity Biotech plc and the Imari Group. Maurice holds a BBS from Trinity College Dublin and an MBA from IMD, Lausanne, Switzerland.
Tim Cremen
Company Secretary and Director
Tim Cremen, joined the board of Largo Foods in 1989 as a non executive director before taking up his current role as Company Secretary and Director.Tim Cremen trained as an accountant with Grant Thornton and worked in accountancy practice for a number of years.
John Donnelly
Operations Director
John Donnelly is the Operations Director of Largo Foods with overall responsibility for Manufacturing, Quality and New Product Development. Prior to joining Largo Foods, John worked in Cadbury Ireland International, Meat Ingredients and Tayto Ltd. John holds a Masters Degree in Applied Food Science (UCD) together with a Diploma in Chemistry (DIT) and a Diploma in Strategic Management (UCC). He is also a Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry, and a chartered Chemist.
John O’Connor
Commercial Director
With nearly 30 years in the FMCG sector, John O’Connor is the Commercial Director with Largo Foods.Prior to joining Largo Foods, John held a Commercial Director position with Tayto Ltd. He has also held positions as Sales Director with Glanbia and Head of Sales at C&C’s Wines & Spirits division, Grants.
Rita Kirwan
Marketing Director
Rita Kirwan, Marketing Director manages the marketing for the iconic Tayto, King and Hunky Dorys brands.Rita spent 7 years with Pernod Ricard, the number two global drinks company including 4 years in the New York and Chicago offices working in various marketing positions. Following on, she transferred back to the Dublin office in Irish Distillers as Regional Manager for North America. Rita is a graduate of Trinity College BESS Degree.
